Since its inception by Drew Carman and Dylan Solise in early 2006, The Corduroy Road has melded bluegrass, Americana, folk rock, and old-time country with the rawest of live performances. The two, born and raised in the Central Kentucky Bluegrass Region where they learned their craft, now reside in the musical gem of the southeast: Athens, GA. Athens Banner Herald called them “bluegrass rockers…influenced by old time country and Americana, while the live performances exude the energy of punk rock.”
The Last Waltz Ensemble is a musical group that progressively plays the music of Bob Dylan and The Band. The group bolsters a play list of over seventy Bob Dylan, The Band, and related tunes, covering music from all eras of the artists’ careers. From The Hawks to the Basement Tapes to The Last Waltz and beyond, the group plays traditional and original arrangements in an improvisational jam band format, never playing the same set list twice.
We’re so excited to be bringing the best Jimmy Buffett cover band back for our Memorial Day Concert! As a bonus this year, Sons of Sailors are going to be performing two full sets starting at 6PM, so get there early to reserve a spot as the lawn will fill quickly!
Based in Athens, Georgia, The Normaltown Flyers have been playing their good time/up tempo music since 1979. Favorite quote- "It's Country but it's not. It's Folk but it's not. It's Rock and Roll but it's not." The band finally settled on calling it "Pickup Truck Rock and Roll." Nuff said!
Since 2002, Abbey Road LIVE! has been rocking the music of the Beatles at clubs, theatres, festivals, and private events. Initially a tribute to the monumental "Abbey Road" album, the band has expanded its scope to include more than 100 Beatles tunes, from all eras of the Fab Four's career. The band specializes in complete, start-to-finish album performances of masterpieces such as "Abbey Road", "Magical Mystery Tour" and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band".
The Common People Band have been one of Athens Georgia's favorite party bands for over 18 years and they show why with each perfomance. The Common People Band play the classic hits from the Motown, Soul and Funk era. The Common People Band perform for wedding receptions, corporate events and college parties thoughout the South and Mid-Atlantic regions.
Call it folk roots with a hint of country. Lowcountry rock; whatever. How about just good old harmony-driven, roots rock n' roll. With five albums under their belts, impressive independent albums sales, and a rapidly growing fan base, Stewart & Winfield are the South's answer to the No Depression, Midwestern sound. Their song-oriented music consists of strong harmony vocals and like the South itself represents a constant meshing of styles and influences that are pleasing to the ear.
Formed in 2001 PACKWAY HANDLE BAND has emerged at the national forefront of bands that use the "gather-around-the-mic" style. The mission of this engaging quintet from Athens, Georgia, is not to preserve historical styles- it's just how they do what they do the best! And they have earned their stripes the old fashioned way by keeping the road hot, winning over audiences wherever they play.
